When Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Isabel Juby

This week we had a rather different Friday. Teaming up with our partners Jana and Jerry Lackey of the Royal Tree Lodge, we welcomed around 50 members from Maun’s deaf community to ride with us and meet our horses. On arrival everyone eagerly accepted the challenge of climbing aboard.  Flood made a fabulous speech about his experiences of working in the tourism industry and particularly how it is to work alongside our four legged friends. It was a brilliant afternoon and I think its safe to say everybody walked away having learnt a thing or two. It’s important to open our eyes not only to those of a different background and culture but also to those who experience the world in a different way altogether.
